Synopsis:

Concerto das Artes gathers a cluster of texts by portuguese and foreign authors on the arts, broadly conceived, and on the relationship between literature and other arts. Thus, apart from essays which have their focus on the visual arts, in this volume the reader will be able to find other pieces on music, theatre, architecture, and cinema. Some essays are new, other, though dispersed, have already been published and they are now gathered in this book, since they constitute reference texts in this field of study. It is designed, not only to scholars from the area of the Humanities, but also to creators and to a educated readership. As such, this anthology wishes to overcome a gap in an area - that of the theory of arts and the relationship between arts - which has been raising the interest of scholars, artists, and readers of all sorts.
