    Biographical note:

      Claudia J. Fischer (PhD, University of Lisbon, 2007) is associate professor of German and Translation at the University of Lisbon where she also coordinates the German language courses. Researcher at the Center for Comparative Studies of the same university, she collaborates in TETRA - a project that deals with theater translation in Portugal.  She published translations of Rilke, Thomas Mann and W. Benjamin and translated Brecht and Fassbinder for the National Theater of Porto. Her research interests lie mainly in the area of German Literature from the 18th and early 19th century. She is currently preparing a book concerning the concept of grace in Friedrich Schiller and Heinrich von Kleist. Her recent publications, international talks and research also involve Fernando Pessoa both as playwright and translator.
